Ginger Bread-Cake
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Nalley's Mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup molasses
- 3/4 cup hot tap water
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 3/4 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Beat mayonnaise with sugar and egg. Blend in molasses and water. Sift dry ingredients together; add to the molasses mixture and beat until smooth. pour into 9x9x2-inch pan lined with paper (unwaxed). Bake in 325 degree oven 40 minutes or until top springs back when touched. Cool 15 minutes. Turn out, and remove paper. Cut into 9 3-inch squares.
